But I knew as soon as I met Anita I wanted her to make my gown, and it is an experience I will never forget. I don’t know how to thank Anita and her team from Vinka Design enough. I and everyone at the wedding was madly in love with my dress. When I first started looking for dresses, I found it hard to find the right dress for my size, I tried on so many and nothing got me excited....until I walked through the doors at Vinka Design. As soon as I met Anita, I knew this was the place, her professionalism, exciting attitude, fun and loving personality made every fitting enjoyable. She never made me worry about my size or shape. My dress was perfect, absolutely beautiful. At the very last fitting I didn’t want to take it off. You could see the amazing detail and care that went into it. Anita is the most beautiful person inside and out I have ever met! She made choosing a dress a really wonderful experience, and there were so many exquisite design to fall in love with! My Ivy dress fitted perfectly and I have never felt so gorgeous in all my life. It was comfortable from the moment I put it on to the very end of the night. The material is top quality and the design was perfect down to every stitch, it stood up to the Manawatu wind and rain and looked amazing every second. My dream dress which Anita so beautifully created was just PERFECTION. Her attention to detail makes each dress she creates a bespoke masterpiece. Each dress is made to fit to your body (not like the other dress shops where you are buying off the hangar!), and you are not limited by what you see on her shelves - if you want to change the lace, style or if have your own design in mind, Anita will make it happen! I felt like a princess on our wedding day and wish we could do it all again just so I can slip into my dress again! (Might just do that anyway so for those coming around for coffee unannounced don't be surprised if you see me dressed in white!) I cannot thank Anita and Helena enough for their amazing service!! Whenever I was uncertain about anything they gave me good, genuine advice. I could not recommend them more if you are looking for your dream dress!

As an, ahem, "older" bride getting married for the second time, I had a very good idea of what kind of dress I wanted to wear, so instead of traipsing through countless bridal stores I contacted the gorgeous Anita at Vinka Design. The whole process from consultation, design sketches, choosing from an exquisite range of laces and fabrics, the fittings and finally trying on my finished gown was so much fun and stress free! The gown that Anita created for me was stunning. It was flattering to my body shape, sexy without being overly revealing, fitted me like a glove and most importantly was comfortable to wear! Anita and her team are incredibly talented, seemingly unflappable and the quality of workmanship is superb. Because I knew the dress fit me so well, I felt confident and relaxed on our wedding day and the compliments I received were endless. I cannot recommend Anita and her amazing team of craftswomen highly enough for a gown that is uniquely yours, expertly constructed and will wow your partner, family and friends!

The minute I saw the Vinka website I dreamed about them making my wedding dress and as soon as I emailed Anita the dream became reality. I loved my dress from top to toe. My gown was everything I had wanted and more. I got so many compliments from people letting me know it was the most beautiful dress they had ever seen.

I had an idea in my mind of what I wanted in a dress but I couldn’t find it. After visiting some wedding dress shops I was left feeling disappointed and a little disheartened. I hadn’t wanted to spend a lot of time shopping but wasn’t having a lot of luck in finding a wedding dress. My last appointment was with Anita and she did not disappoint. The initial meeting was so easy, comfortable and fun. I tried on a few dresses and described to Anita the elements of each that I loved, she grabbed out her drawing pad and began to sketch. There was my dress on paper within an hour of meeting Anita! It was a hassle free process from there and going in for fittings and chatting with Anita was always a lot of fun. The end result was stunning, it was just what I had imagined and more. Anita is incredibly talented and makes you feel so comfortable throughout the process, I couldn’t recommend her more.

At the very start of our engagement I was googling images of wedding dresses and, not being a very good ‘girl‘, I had no idea what I was looking for. However, a specific dress soon caught my eye. It was not only simple, elegant and - in my mind - perfect but also meant to be as I realized that the incredible designer and maker of this dress was only two hours north! I quickly phoned Vinka Design and the beautiful Anita told me that not only could I have that dress... but she could make it even better and uniquely suited for me! I had no clue how anything further than dialing the number worked but she patiently answered my numerous and, no doubt repetitive, questions made me more excited than I ever thought it would be possible to be over a piece of clothing and calmed my fears- all over the phone before we had even met! The process from here was streamlined and, amazingly, fun! She helped me to understand the dress and what would work for my body and, after our first meeting, fully understood not only what I wanted but also what I needed and designed (and created) the most beautiful dress for me... I don‘t think I have ever felt as beautiful as I did trying that dress on during fittings and on our special day and I don‘t know if I ever will. Anita and Vinka Designs helped me to stand next to my handsome husband and feel like I was someone he could be proud of; a feeling that is truly priceless. I do not believe that any other dress could have done this. Anita has a incredible understanding of people and my dress is a true reflection of that. I knew from day one when I attended the wedding show in Auckland 2 years ago that I wanted Vinka to make my wedding dress. It was truly everything I dreamed of and more. I had spent three days in Auckland searching for a wedding dress. I’d found dresses that I ‘liked’ but none that I ‘loved’. I arrived at Vinka Bridal stressed, tired, and disappointed. We had a really wonderful wedding day and everything was absolutely perfect, including my beautiful gown. I will never ever forget how really beautiful I felt in my gown that day. Not only the beautiful design but the cut and quality of the fabric seemed to make my dress float around me when I walked. It was amazing! The quality of the fabric is certainly evident in the way it has caught the light in the photographs, people have asked me if the photographer was using some special lighting! The dress was so beautiful. Thank you again so much for your beautiful handiwork on my gown. So many people were commenting on the gown wondering who could make such a beautiful gown. It was very 'me'. Everyone was wanting to touch it to admire the detail. I do think the veil made it special so thanks so much for getting me to try one on and then letting me lend one! Even my father who barely notices what people are wearing was blown away when he first saw me when he came and picked me up on the day!

I was lucky enough to meet Anita a few years back when my twin sister was getting married, who ended up with an amazing dress that looked perfect on her! Thank you so much for creating my gorgeous wedding gown. Even now when I take a peak at it I‘m amazed by the amount of detail, skill and effort that has gone into it. Creating my gown was a fun and easy process - I arrived for my consultation with Anita with almost no idea of what I wanted (other than a dress that reflected me and not the trend of the season) and walked out with a sketch of my custom designed dress complete with fabric samples. I was given as much or as little input into the gown as I wanted. This meant that I could make decisions on the aspects that meant a lot to me, but also feel confident that you would take care of the rest. The final result was a one of a kind gown that truly reflected me - a perfect balance of ‘stunning‘ with a contemporary twist. And of course my husband absolutely loved it! Wow- what girl can walk into a bridal designer for a consultation and try on the first gown and its perfect! That was my experience. Anita made me feel like I was special, had such in depth knowledge, offered hints along the journey to complete a perfect day. Every visit for a fitting was relaxed, fun and stress-free. I wanted my dress to be a complete surprise to my bridal party so replied solely on Anita and her team for their guidance and suggestions. They certainly did not disappoint. I have received so many compliments on my dress. It is a decision I would encourage all perspective brides to undertake. You certainly won’t be disappointed. As soon as I walked into Vinka Design it was like a dream come true, surrounded by the most gorgeous gowns, fabrics, jewellery & rows of photos of real Vinka Brides, I knew this bridal boutique was the one. Being greeted by fabulous Anita was amazing, she made me feel so special her warmth and enthusiasm radiating. I brought a picture of a Vinka Bridal dress I saw in a magazine that I had fallen in love with. Anita she said she would make it for me so it suited my shape and I could then add anything I wanted to it. Anita is very professional, talented and so lovely. I felt so happy. I chose a lace bodice and flowing tulle organza skirt, it was a dress I have dreamed about since I was young it was beautifully crafted, romantic and perfect for me and our day. Hi Anita, I‘ve received the first few photos back from our wedding. It was just a wonderful day and I felt just amazing in my dress. Just perfect. Leigh was floored and I had so many comments about the dress - the Wedding Planner even told me that she has seen a lot of designer dresses over her career, but nothing she‘s liked more :-) The veil was a huge hit with the photographer - sheer and floaty and looks great in the photos. We were all so happy with how perfectly the wedding went! Dad walked me down the aisle, and Thomas had the most touching reaction to seeing me walk down in my beautiful gown - seeing him cry with happiness made me and my dad so emotional that we got teary too! A final and enormous thank you for my INCREDIBLE gown-a labour of love from start to finish; and a completely special creation. It really was the key centrepiece and -talking point of the whole on the day-affair (and, secretly, my favourite element of the entire affair!) I felt like a princess. When I booked my initial consultation with Vinka Bridal I was becoming what you might term a frazzled bride. With three months to turn around my dream wedding I was conscious of the fact that that was probably not quite long enough for your standard bridal boutique and I was probably looking at a dress that didn’t quite live up to my imaginations expectations. Luckily for me Vinka Bridal are not your standard bridal boutique. And the finished product? I can never express how pleased I was with it not to mention how in awe I still am of you wonderfully talented ladies and the way you turned a bolt of lace into a stunning classic wedding gown. I had so many comments about the dress on the day and have had countless compliments on it when showing off my wedding photos. Definitely everything that I wanted and more. I cant recommend Vinka Bridal enough, from consultation to the beautifully finished product my experience was amazing. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Friday 14th March, I walked down the isle in a Vinka Dress. The Woman who runs the venue we got married at said "I have been in the wedding industry for 6 years now, and this is by far the most amazing dress I have ever seen" I got this comment all night long! " Hands down the best dress ever!" And my Husband LOVED IT! So Ladies, if you want to blow your guests away with your gown... wear Vinka! you won’t be disappointed!!! All I can say is that I felt like such a princess on my wedding day. Everyone complimented my dress and two months later people still mention how gorgeous it was.
After being overwhelmed with the style/fit of ready made dresses, Anita was such a breath of fresh air. While I myself had no clue what would suit my figure (other than saying "Make me look pretty!"), Anita had a vision from the first day - she knew straight away how to make me look gorgeous.
Not only did Anita and her team do a flawless job throughout, but she also made me feel very comfortable and relaxed. She is definitely someone who you can have a laugh with - this was needed when we were getting close to the wedding day.
Anita worked so hard on my dress and had to constantly make adjustments due to me losing weight. I got told off a bit (and we laughed about it) and then had to eat some cookies to make up for it. I made sure to take a picture for Anita too. Thank you for your awesome sense of humour, Anita!
Overall I wish I could rate Vinka a 10 out of 5 as I was just so impressed and thrilled with the final outcome. You made such a masterpiece for me and it is something I will always treasure. I look forward to being able to pass it down to the next generation someday xx
