Why are you a photographer?
I have ZERO mental imagery, so my memories live in photos. So, I turned to photography early on, relying on it to remember what my mind couldn't. This gave me a deep appreciation for its value—I love capturing moments, imprints of time, that can be cherished today, tomorrow, and decades from now.
How do you help your couples feel comfortable and relaxed in front of the camera?
After a few hundred weddings, I like to think I'm pretty perceptive and know how to read (and work) a room. I dial into how people feel pretty quick, and know the right emotional buttons to push to make things fun.
What’s a photo you’ve captured you’re most proud of?
The surgical staff let me bring a camera into theatre for my son/wife's c-section – I got some pretty crazy special stuff there, and I think having a camera in hand helped me not pass out.

When you aren’t shooting a wedding, what’s your favorite way to spend a weekend?
Zoo dates with my son, a trip to the beach, avoiding piles of clean laundry that beg to be folded.
