As newly weds in the US, we were so excited for our honeymoon in New Zealand. We knew we wanted to schedule honeymoon photos, but since we were going to be in a camper van we realized we had to find a photographer that could be flexible with our schedule. Kouki did that and MORE. He kept in contact with us months before the shoot, he spent time getting to know us, and he traveled to our favorite place, hours out of his way - with zero hesitation I may add. Not only did the pictures turn out beautiful but he captured every pure moment of our relationship. Nothing felt staged and every interaction was meaningful. Very professional. Made us very relaxed during the photoshoot. Easy and Simple for us. Shoots in few places. Helicopter was organised to the Cecil Peak. Although it was very windy and cold but the photos look very beautiful and smooth. Dress and makeup were organised for my fiance.

Ever since I met Michael I just knew he’d be my wedding photographer! Not all photographers are the same and you definitely can’t go wrong with this legend. The man not only knows how to capture the perfect shot, he is also a top professional. He spent lots of time getting to know us way before the wedding, took the effort to really understand what we wanted and as a result, created and captured some amazing moments during the actual wedding day. Standing around setting up for a photo can be super dull and frustrating, Kouki made that process super fun and cheerful with his little dances and jokes. This also made people who don’t naturally feel comfortable in front of the camera feel at ease and look great. Was given a free engagement photos which was a success we love love all the photos. Wedding day came and post wedding ceremony to photo shoots.. our party bus got into an accident and our snacks had already left to reception with a family member lol. When I first started looking for a photographer for our wedding, I had a budget in mind.
I reached out to those at both scales of our budget (high & low) but ultimately it came down to the contact, responses that I got from Michael & his team. He treated us as a paying client before we even said YES.
His helpful advice, tips and experience ultimately is what decided everything for us as many others just referred us to their site and pricing. I didn’t know what I was looking at on their sites so that wasn’t helpful. Michael & Joel literally stepped us through what our day may look like and much of it we hadn’t considered. Michael did our wedding in February. He was so enthusiastic, funny and easy to get along with on the day. It was like having a friend take our photos who just happened to be an amazing photographer. All his communication before and after the event was prompt and helpful.
I send Michael images of the “look” I was going for and a photo list of what I wanted, and the photos he delivered met the brief. He went above and beyond, even though he was meant to finish after the cocktail hour he stayed later to get photos of the first dance and cutting of the cake.

The best thing about working with Michael was his enthusiasm and personality. A photoshoot is an experience and he made it one to remember. I haven't met a photographer as down to earth and relatable as Michael. My fiancee and I were both nervous right before the shoot but he made is fun and relaxing, the time went by so quickly. We still laugh at all the silly things that happened that day. We got all of our photos the next day and they turned out amazing. Couldn't believe that in one location we could get so many different sceneries. Even if you only have a rough idea of where you want to shoot, Michael can recommend you the best places based on your preference. From the lighting to the colours, Michael was super professional. Highly recommend his service to those who not only want to have beautiful images of their special day, but to enjoy the journey of getting it taken. It is more than just posing for the camera.

It was the funniest experience ever. Very professional, Michael made the whole shoot was so comfortable, the photos came out so natural and amazing. Highly recommend it for anybody for and occasion. All we can say is WOW, DEFINATELY ABOVE AND BEYOND!!!
We have been working with Michael from our post-wedding shoot May 2020 to our 1st wedding anniversary Feb 2021, suprising my husband.
Almost 12 months of working together and Michael has always had our best interest at heart. Recently I had planned a suprise anniversary party on 26th February 2021 which consisted of pre-party couple shoot followed by a suprise party at our wedding venue Allely Estate.
Michael is definately the happy-go-lucky type of guy, respectful, professional, easy to gel with and keeps the hype going day and night and let's not forget he's very delightful to be around! He is definitely part of our family now!
He captured all the beautiful moments and at the same time created even more beautiful moments. If we could give you 100 stars, that's definitely where our rating would sit!

I HAVE NO WORDS TO EXPRESS THE PHOTOGRAPHER/VIDEOGRAPHER WE CHOSE TO CAPTURE ALL THE BEAUTIFUL AND MOST IMPORTANT DAY OF OUR LIVES! Right from the beginning when we had our catch up, to the engagement shoot, right up till the wedding, Michael and his team gave us assurance, made us feel important as customers, but especially made us feel so comfortable we trusted him and his work and had no doubt throughout the whole time. What also made it easier for us was his communication skills. There was NEVER a time where he would leave us out in the cold and ALWAYS made sure we were ok through the whole experience. He has a very personable communication style and for anyone who is camera-shy, Michael has a way of capturing the genuine moments that unfold but also gives soft direction to create images that appear beautifully natural. On Friday 7th February 2020 my husband & I got married & had the privilege of having Kouki Photography be our main photographer & videographer for our day. We cannot thank them enough for all that they did for us. They went above and beyond to make sure they captured everything for us. Thank you immensely to Michael Kouk, a very good friend of mine & former colleague. Your team handled & put up with all my vain guests & bridal party with so much patience & expertise! Even during the reception when we had the issue w the reception venue elevators, you guys stayed the entire night, well after the appointed time & made sure you were able to get as much footage as possible. I cannot thank you guys enough for that. And then seeing the quality of photos and videos we’ve received since our day, seriously - I cannot recommend you enough! I got Michael to photograph my sister's wedding, he did such a good job that I got him to photograph my own wedding the following year! Michael and his team does well with capturing the "standard" types of shots but also the more special, funny and heartfelt moments that can be so easily missed, it's these photos that are my family's favourites

Really delayed with my post but my wedding was on the 5th of October. Michael and his team were so professional but fun at the same time. Asked his team to start at 11 am till 9 pm but they started 10:30 and still finished at 9 pm which I was really pleased about! Was truly grateful for all the effort they put into making mine and Jerry’s day so beautiful! Even though we’d be so awkward with some of the shots we were told to do lol they made us feel so comfortable. Not only was his team so good to work with but the price as well! For being a person that’s camera shy I’d highly recommend Kouki Photography they made me feel as if the camera was my best friend haha. Highly recommend Kouki and his team!! Our Tongan wedding was very traditional and he was able to capture every special moment. He's very professional throughout, providing amazing service from the moment you enquire right through to delivering the final products of his photos, and they are AMAZING!!! 💖 he is well experienced in Tongan weddings and when the bridal party goes for their photos, he makes the process fun and easy for us. During prep days of our wedding; it was hard to find a photographer / videographer to work with that was within our budget yet provide professional service/product. Kouki Team were nice enough to work with us to our estimated plans and our fixed budget allowing for the main parts of the wedding. Come the actual wedding day we ran to the initial quote then took the rest of the day as it came. Kouki Team were patient with us as we kept extending our time to suit our semi delayed reception program hehe. Our wedding photos and video are precious to us and especially because they have turned out so beautiful. All in all, we highly recommend Kouki Team’s professional services and no doubt won't be using anyone else now!

This review is long overdue! We used Mike as our photographer/videographer. We contacted Mike last minute due to my wife and I still living in Melbourne! Although last-minute Mike was able to fit us in as well as made time to meet with us straight away and discuss exactly what “WE WANTED”. On our special day, Mike and his team made both parties feel relaxed and comfortable and as a result, captured amazing images.
