Whilst many venues have gardens, no other venue offers quite the feeling of seclusion, of being nestled in amongst established native ferns and palms in the Kowhai Glade. And even in the harshest sun, or in the rain, that native garden ambience can be enjoyed. The Nikau Pavilion, with its huge, high canopy and polished aggregate floor brings the indoors outdoors. Surrounded by ferns and other native planting, couples can marry or hold their reception in evergreen surroundings with a summer feel, even in winter.
The natural garden theme is reflected indoors also, with a ceiling garden feature, and an original Tui painting by the artist Flox, in the Nectar Room. Even the dance floor is being revamped, with new lighting and acoustic panels to improve sound quality.
The new vision for Tui Hills includes gourmet outsourced catering, a new bar service featuring local still wines from Soho and West Brook, plus Kiwi craft beer alongside French Champagne. To suit a range of budgets and expectations, a selection of wedding packages is being offered, from the classic bespoke option to luxury 6-hour pop-ups.
Whilst the venue may be new, the owners have assembled a team of professionals at the top of their game, with decades of experience in events planning, catering and front-of-house to make sure no important detail is overlooked on the big day.
On the organisational side, the latest technology is being applied to enable the experience to be more enjoyable than stressful. Each couple will be able to have their own web site, manage guest lists online and use their site to arrange activities around the wedding itself. Today’s wedding couples are comfortable with the online world, and so is the team at Tui Hills.
Expect a wedding experience like no other, where you feel a million miles from anywhere, but just 30 minutes’ drive from central Auckland.
