Set amongst more than 30,000 olive trees in Auckland’s Bombay Hills, Bracu Estate feels like a European escape - without ever leaving Auckland.

Located almost exactly halfway between Auckland and Hamilton, this Mediterranean-inspired estate offers the ideal midpoint for guests travelling from either region.

Whether you’re planning a grand reception, a romantic micro wedding, or an intimate elopement, Bracu balances natural beauty with seamless execution.

Let’s explore the spaces.

The Pavilion

Purpose-built. Refined. Designed for statement celebrations.

The Pavilion is Bracu Estate’s largest and most versatile wedding space. Nestled within the olive grove and positioned beside a tranquil pond, it offers a strong sense of arrival and exclusivity.

Accommodating up to 160 guests seated or 190 cocktail-style, it’s ideal for:

  • Formal receptions
  • Cultural weddings
  • Multi-course dining experiences
  • Elevated evening celebrations

High vaulted ceilings, dimmable lighting, built-in AV, an in-house bar and seamless courtyard flow make it a planner’s dream — and a couple’s stress-free option.

The Velarium

Architectural. Modern. Immersed in nature yet all-weather proof.

Elevated within the estate, The Velarium offers a contemporary open-air structure designed for couples who want a refined yet natural setting.

With capacity for approximately 60 seated or 80 standing guests, it’s particularly popular for:

  • Modern ceremonies
  • Cocktail-style weddings
  • Micro celebrations with atmosphere

It allows you to feel connected to the landscape, while still offering the structure and reliability you need.

The Marquee

All-season flexibility with garden views.

Framed by sweeping olive grove views, the Marquee is a covered ceremony and reception space designed for year-round peace of mind.

With room for up to 100 seated guests or 130 standing, it’s a favourite for:

  • Garden ceremonies with wet-weather backup
  • Mid-sized receptions
  • Cocktail-style celebrations

Transparent walls can open or close depending on conditions, giving you flexibility without compromising the aesthetic.

Outdoor Ceremony Locations

One of Bracu’s greatest strengths? Choice.

You’re not limited to one “ceremony spot.” Instead, you can select from multiple settings across the estate. Each can be paired with an indoor backup option, offering reassurance — something both planners and couples deeply appreciate.

Intimate Weddings & Elopements at Bracu

Not every love story calls for a long guest list.

Bracu has thoughtfully designed two curated small-scale wedding collections:

The Elopement Edit

For couples wanting a beautifully simple, romantic wedding for two (with the option to include a handful of loved ones), this package includes:

  • A ceremony location of your choice
  • A three-course reception for two at Bracu Restaurant
  • One-night accommodation at Olive House
  • Continental breakfast
  • Estate access for photography
  • Dedicated event coordination
  • Optional witnesses

Seasonal pricing begins from $2,000 NZD (low season) and $2,500 NZD (high season).

It’s designed to feel effortless, intimate and beautifully curated — not scaled-down or second-tier.

The Intimate Edit

For micro weddings and smaller guest lists (around 30 guests), Bracu offers two signature experiences:

  • Nuptials at Noon – A refined daytime celebration (4 hours) from $5,500 incl. GST
  • Sunset Soirée – A romantic late-afternoon experience (4.5 hours) from $6,000 incl. GST

Both include:

  • Exclusive ceremony space hire
  • Classic white seating
  • Celebrant
  • Canapés and bubbles
  • Wedding cake
  • Dedicated coordinator
  • Estate photography access

These packages deliver the full Bracu experience — simply tailored to a more intimate scale.

For couples who want atmosphere, quality and thoughtful detail without a 12-hour timeline, these are beautifully considered options.

Dining & Catering

All weddings at Bracu are catered in-house by their Mediterranean-inspired culinary team.

From long-table shared feasts to refined plated menus and canapés under the olive trees, the food experience is central to the celebration. Dietary requirements are easily accommodated, and beverage packages can be tailored to suit your style — whether that’s a curated wine pairing or a relaxed bar tab.

For smaller celebrations, Bracu Restaurant can also be exclusively hired or used for private dining.

Onsite Accommodation

One of Bracu’s biggest advantages? You don’t have to leave.

The estate offers three boutique accommodation houses within walking distance of the event spaces:

  • Estate House – 5 bedrooms
  • Harvest House – 4 bedrooms
  • Olive House – 3 bedrooms

Perfect for:

  • Getting ready onsite
  • Hosting immediate family
  • Turning your wedding into a multi-day experience

For planners, this significantly simplifies logistics. For couples, it means more time soaking in the moment.

Why Couples Love Bracu

Bracu offers something many venues cannot: scale and intimacy in equal measure.

You can host 150 guests beneath vaulted ceilings - or say “I do” beneath olive trees with 10 of your closest people. You can plan a lavish reception or a beautifully pared-back elopement.

Most importantly, you’re supported by an experienced team who understand that no two weddings are the same.

If you’re searching for a venue that feels like a destination - while still being accessible for Auckland guests - Bracu Estate deserves a place at the top of your list.

Bracu offers genuine flexibility. The Pavilion seats up to 160 (190 cocktail-style), the Marquee seats 100, and The Velarium seats 60. For intimate weddings or elopements, curated packages cater to smaller guest counts beautifully — without compromising on atmosphere.

Yes, this is one of Bracu’s greatest strengths. Each outdoor ceremony location can be paired with an indoor or covered backup option. The Marquee’s transparent walls can open or close depending on conditions, offering year-round reassurance without losing the garden aesthetic.

Yes. Bracu has two thoughtfully designed small-scale collections: The Elopement Edit is for couples wanting a romantic, beautifully simple wedding for two (or a handful of guests). The Intimate Edit caters to micro weddings of around 30 guests, with curated daytime or sunset options. These packages feel elevated and intentional — not scaled back.

The Pavilion’s capacity, built-in AV, flexible layouts and in-house coordination make it well suited to cultural weddings and larger guest lists. The space supports multi-course dining, formalities and elevated evening celebrations with ease.
