Christina and Adam

“Adam and I met at a pretty unexpected time, growing into close friends, to begin with. However, the more time the two of us spent together, the more we realised that this was more than just friendship. Everything bloomed from that point onwards, and we haven’t looked back since. The proposal was pretty romantic. In October 2017, we were in Santorini, Greece, at the most stunning winery overlooking the Mediterranean. It was sunset, and we were sipping wine together, watching the world turn to gold and pink, when the waiter came up to us, and we were directed to an even better spot to watch the twilight from and snap some photos. Next thing you know, we were engaged and riding a quad bike into the sunset together. It’s one of the most romantic and memorable moments of our lives. Initially, we planned to have our ceremony in South Africa with our family and friends, given we have no family here with us in New Zealand. Unfortunately, due to COVID, we had to cancel those plans because of the travel restrictions, given the majority of our family and friends reside in South Africa and the UK. We were always open to the idea of eloping, and, having explored this in more detail following the ongoing pandemic, it grew into something we were more focused on and actually got excited about the more we thought about it. The two of us had always wanted a small and intimate wedding, as we are quite a private couple. We had so many ideas that we explored for a celebration like that - but they all kept changing for various reasons, and nothing ended up feeling right or ‘fitting’ for us. Honestly, we just wanted to be married, so we felt eloping was the right thing for us to do. We highly recommend it to anyone who is thinking of doing it. The whole day was extraordinary in its own way and focuses on just the two of you, which worked out perfectly for us.”
