"We tied the knot in December 2024, surrounded by our favourite people, loads of happy tears, and just the right amount of chaos to make it unforgettable. Let’s be honest—it was always going to be memorable!"

How did your story begin?

"We met at work. Adam likes to say we bonded over pub quiz nights and some very sophisticated after-work drinks. We may have exchanged a few cheeky glances in the reflection of a mirror… and the rest is history!"

What was one non-negotiable?

"The so-called sophisticated drink that started it all… which just so happened to be tequila. Of course, we had a round ready for our guests during Adam’s speech—part tradition, part tribute, part "who let us do this"’ It was our way of honouring our earlier years and a way to invite our guests to share a moment with us."

What was the best investment you made for your wedding?

"For Adam’s analytical brain, the best investment was the strategy we used—one that really suited our lifestyle and the stage we’re in. We chose high-quality suppliers who worked seamlessly together, which meant we could still make time for our young family in the lead-up. Sure, we could’ve gone full DIY or hired a wedding planner—but this gave us the perfect balance of value and autonomy.
But more than anything? It was our kids, Beau and Ellie, who added a whole new layer of meaning to everything. While we were signing the papers, they were happily playing at the top of the aisle—until Ellie marched right up to me, tossed a fistful of petals at my dress, and proudly declared: ‘I got you, Mummy!’ Priceless. It wasn’t just our wedding. It was a day about love, family, and the tiny humans who make everything feel so much bigger."

Did you put your own twist on any traditions, or break a few entirely?

"We didn’t stray too far from the classics, but we made sure every part of the day felt like us.
One of our favourite little twists came during the signing of the register. Where most couples might play soft romantic background music, we wanted to create something more intentional—a pause to really breathe, soak it in, and set the tone for the rest of the night. So we played Ikarus by Ladi6.
It made the atmosphere calm, soulful, a little unexpected—and it felt exactly right."

What caught you off guard, in the best or most unexpected way?

"Oh—easy! My maid of honour made me perform during her speech. Okay—technically I was warned, but no one else was… not even Adam or our friends! She figured if she got the bride on stage, she’d automatically win Best Speech. It was wild, and to be fair, she earned it."

Any advice you’d pass on to other couples just getting started?

"Most things will probably go just as planned—especially if you stay focused on how you want the day to feel. Memories stick best when good feelings are attached, so be intentional about the vibe you’re creating—for yourselves and for the people you love. Some of our favourite moments were the ones we set aside just for us. Whether it was cheekily whispering ‘you’re locked in now’ after the vows, or sneaking a quiet glass of champagne before the reception—those little pauses grounded the whole day. Just remember: you’re marrying your person. That’s what matters most!"
