Tell us a little about your love story.

"We first met when I came from America to New Zealand to visit a friend, who was also one of Levi’s friends. I spent New Year’s with his friend group, then decided to move to New Zealand a few months later — and the rest is history!"

If you can narrow it down, what part of your day felt most special?

"Our ceremony was so special. We put a lot of time into making it meaningful for us, and being there with each other, surrounded by all the people we love and cherish, was something we’ll never forget."

What was your take on tradition?

"With us being from different countries, we wanted to bring a little bit of both of our traditions into our wedding day. I wouldn’t say we broke any traditions specifically, but we really made the day our own."

What caught you off guard, in the best or most unexpected way?

"I think how nervous I felt before the ceremony. About an hour before, I felt so ready to see Levi, then suddenly got really nervous to walk down the aisle, which was very unexpected! Thankfully, the second I saw Levi, all the nerves disappeared."

What advice would you give to couples just starting their wedding planning journey?

"Try to have fun with the planning as much as possible. We tried to make date nights out of it and just dream together, instead of being too harsh on ourselves. It truly is the best day ever having all of your people there, so remember that!"

What was the best investment you made for your day?

"I would say the dinner portion of the day. It truly felt like it came straight out of my Pinterest board, with the food, candles and the most amazing sunset. My favourite part was getting up and talking to all of our guests during dinner, then heading outside to see the sunset view and watching everyone go out there for photos."

Who helped bring your day to life?

"Grace at Batch, our venue, was so, so incredible. She was patient and kind with us and really helped our vision come to life. We can’t thank her enough, not to mention all the staff at Batch, who were amazing on the day.

Our photographer and videographers, Savannah and Connor, made us feel so comfortable all day and helped everything flow so smoothly. They captured our day so perfectly and we’re so grateful.

Wildflower Waiheke did our flowers and truly outdid themselves. I honestly had no idea what I wanted when it came to flowers, aside from them being colourful, and they created something better than I could’ve ever imagined.

We also couldn’t have done the day without our amazing friends and family, who helped set up and put everything together. We are so grateful for all the ways they invest into our lives."
