Real Wedding
Hayley & Dion
These two lovebirds met on a night out where Dion was the sober driver and in Hayley's words, "the rest is history!".
What was the proposal like?
"We were up the Remarkables in Queenstown. Dion brought a bottle of champagne, and we sat in the car's boot, looking over the lights on the water. Dion was so nervous he popped the champagne first and asked me to marry him second!"
Did you include anything non-traditional in your wedding?
"Both my parents walked me up the aisle."
What is one thing that surprised you?
"How flawless the entire day went from start to finish. People say there will always be something that won't quite go right, but we can honestly say we wouldn't change a single detail."
What do you consider the best wedding investment you made?
"An affordable wedding dress and reception dress. You really don't have to spend mega bucks."
What is one thing you wish you had known before planning and having your wedding?
"Just go with the flow, don't stress and enjoy all the little things from when you start planning until the big day."
Who was your outstanding wedding vendor?
"Bradley's Garden, Taumarunui. Melana Bradley, who has made Bradley's into the spectacular venue and garden it is today, made our day perfect. She coordinated with all involved and made our experience seamless, and not to mention it really is the most stunning wedding venue in the King Country!"
