Can you share a snippet of your love story?

"We met in high school, he was the bad boy, and I was the ace student. Although we never dated, we hung out numerous times because of mutual friends. Three years after high school, I saw him posting photos on his Instagram, and he was unrecognisable, fit and hot.

We ended up going on an absolutely electric dinner date, sharing the same goals and values. Six weeks after that, we moved in together, and then five and a half years later, he proposed.

He took me to the same dinner venue; I kept saying during the date, it’s insane how, after all these years, I still feel so connected to him as though we had only been dating a short time. He drives us home, but he takes an alternative route, thinking he’s being romantic and wants to extend our date.

We show up at a pitch-dark venue. He hurried off, and I chased him, worried something was wrong. At least 50 candles lit in the shape of a heart, 100 handpicked red roses, a photo board spanning over the last 5 years, a fireplace lit, and a handsome man down on one knee."

What do you consider the best wedding investment you made, and why?

"Videography and photography to capture the most magical day. I have watched the wedding video many times, and it’s so special to remember this day."

Did you include any non-traditional elements on your wedding day?

"I mean, it mostly stuck to traditional, but we didn’t have a sit-down meal; we had a food truck. We also had our first dance to an upbeat song from Shrek, one of our favourite comfort movies."

What is one thing that surprised you?

"How relaxed I was! The best advice is to know things will go wrong but roll with it! I was also surprised by how much my husband actually danced!"

What advice would you share with other couples beginning their wedding planning journey?

"Start with booking the photographer and videographer; next, look at the budget!"
