How it all began

“We met through some mutual friends at a time when I was new-ish to the area,” says Lorenza. “It was Daniel’s birthday a couple of days later, and I used this as an opportunity to start up a conversation and get to know each other.”

The vibe

“We wanted a chill, drama- and stress-free wedding. Rustic and genuine. The colours were perfect! All we wanted was to get married to the person we love.”

Best investment

“The photography and videography! Black Curl Films were incredible! We now get to look back on the day whenever we want and remember all the love. Also, the flowers were gorgeous and the food was amazing—just everything!”

Breaking tradition

“We didn't do the ‘something new, something blue, something borrowed’—or a first look. It was just very relaxed.”

Most unexpected moment

“The wind! My dress had a rather open front to it. The weather was perfect, but we didn't account for the wind. Stick down your dresses, ladies!”

Advice to other couples

“Everyone says your wedding is the greatest day of your life, but I found that this made planning a lot more stressful. It definitely is one of the biggest days—but don't let that make you go crazy. Just do what feels right and don't worry about the rest.”

“Brides—have a friend to coordinate your morning. I’m hyper-independent and decided to turn up to the venue and get all the decorating done myself. I ran around like a headless chicken until the moment we were walking down the aisle. You need a moment to breathe—to really take in the fact you are about to marry your best friend. Just have someone who can take responsibility for all the little things.”

“Oh, and I highly recommend at least filming your vows and speeches. If you don't want to get a whole videography team, just set up a tripod. You will want to look back on the day. It goes so fast.”
