Melody and Thushtika

Photography by Proshot Photography

“It’s true that New Zealand is all about the beauty of nature (and with good reason), but it was really exciting to have Melody and Thushtika plan an industrial, urban-styled wedding in Auckland City. They met in New Zealand whilst they were studying at the University of Auckland. At the time, Melody was 20 and Thushtika was 18. After graduation, they left for Australia for a few years and a series of adventures. When they eventually returned to New Zealand, Thushtika took Melody back to their alma mater, the very classroom where they first met. He proposed in the presence of their closest friends. Every detail of their wedding day at Everybody’s was amazing - especially with the incredible styling and florals by Rock + Honey Installations. They wanted a more relaxed, informal kind of wedding, with a focus on spending time with their loved ones. They were all so close to one another, especially Melody and her brothers, and seeing that special connection between them was really moving. You could feel how important their family and friends were to them. I remember taking the bridal photos before the ceremony, so the bride and groom had already seen one another. Even so, as Melody later walked down the aisle to Thushtika, there was that feeling of undiluted love between them that words can’t really describe. It was especially touching seeing that from Melody, as she’s pretty shy. Even for the traditional first dance, it was Thushtika dancing with his friend. She only joined in for a few moments, but that was more than enough to show how happy she was.”
