Olivia and Dom

Photography by Fay Carey Photography

"Olivia and Dom found me online. Thanks to the power of Google, I ended up meeting one of the sweetest and most down-to-earth couples out there. When we met for the first time, I remember how they described their wedding day: there was such a focus on their loved ones and how they wanted to make time for them and to make it special for everyone. The whole idea behind their big day was a glam pop-up on their family farm, which sounded pretty damn cool from the get-go. They ended up nailing the whole look, from the bright florals to the monochrome bridal party and groomsmen outfits. It was classy, it was modern, and it was effortless. Olivia's dress was the centrepiece, blending in with the minimalism of their Kerikeri Farm in such seamless fashion. Even the reception was a glorious testament to simple beauty, with jars of flowers all handpicked by their guests against the snow-white tablecloths. Surrounded by sunlight and the faces of all their favourite people, it was clear to see that this wedding was exactly what Olivia and Dom had wished for. It was a classic New Zealand summer's day with blue skies and plenty of sunshine. There was so much joy, from laughter to tears and hugs aplenty. There was a balance of friends and family, which made for really fun and meaningful speeches. Overall, the wedding was really genuine. It was a true reflection of Olivia and Dom and their values, with everyone being included. The words shared were from the heart, leaving everyone in the house without a dry eye. They had a large bridal party, which was no surprise as their family and friends are so important to them, and made for heaps of fun on the shoot. There was no shortage of laughs. Something that stuck out to me was that each guest was invited to bring a flower to the ceremony to help decorate it. It was such a unique and meaningful gesture and made the florals really interesting and personal, all placed in glass vases on golden drums. Olivia and Dom ended up getting married in front of those flowers. It was a blooming kind of love."
