How did you two meet?

"We have Whitney Wolfe Herd to thank for that. She put women in charge with Bumble, Bec made her move, and here we are, six months into marriage, and she's still in charge! We met during Covid, so it was kind of like being chaperoned by the government at first — no hand holding, no kissing, two metres apart kind of deal."

What was one of the best decisions you made for your wedding day?

"Keeping it short and sweet. We opted for an afternoon garden party wedding. Start at 2, garden games, nibbles and champagne, first dance, some speeches, then kick everyone out at 7. Made things simpler, while retaining all the key moments with the people we care about."

What was your take on tradition?

"We skipped the reception dinner. No seating plans, no expensive catering. We farewelled our guests, then took full advantage of those summer golden hours with our photographers, with no pressure to get back in time for anything."

What is one aspect of your wedding that represented you well?

"The last-minute addition of sun parasols. We lucked out with the hottest weekend in January and worried about the heat, so our mate Temu came in clutch with a hundred white parasols. Combined with the classic wedding car, manor house venue, and our cream and brown wedding theme, it created such a warm, vintage feel that captured us so well."

What caught you off guard, in the best or most unexpected way?

"We picked a brand new venue, Gilmore Manor. We were their second couple to book in, and it was so nice to journey through planning a wedding day together with them. They were open to any and all ideas, and it felt like a true collaboration to get the best out of the venue."

What wedding advice would you pass on to other couples?

"You don't have to work with the best vendors on paper. Work with the vendors you like and get along with the best. When you can have fun planning each aspect with them, you'll feel relaxed enough to give honest feedback. They'll better understand what you want and it will take a weight off your mind, trusting them to get their part done."

"Starting with our beautiful venue, Fiona at Gilmore Manor was amazing. The team at Lykke handled our delicious canapés and catering, our talented friends and family who sang, emceed and helped on the day, Briar Miller for the bridal party make-up, and our wonderfully creative photography/videography duo, Josh and Rebecka at Zedala Creations, who captured every moment."
