Pulling out all the stops for the celebration of a lifetime, this culture-infused wedding was an ongoing party for friends, family and the gorgeous couple, Renay & Jas.

Can you tell us about the proposal?
"The proposal was in Bora Bora. The whole thing was a secret. He arranged my leave in secret, too. At the time, I was working in corporate at Heineken and was very overworked, so I thought we were going for a nice break.
He arranged a private shoot and hired most of the Bora Bora St Regis Resort for the shoot and proposal. I canoed across the waters, and he was standing in a heart of flowers! This was back in 2016 - I didn't even think people did such extravagant proposals then!
A private dinner followed this in their lagoon aquarium with live singers. Later, they took us to their private beach, where we did a champagne celebration, and then the fireworks went off. Jas said, "I arranged them for you." I laughed and said, "Sure you did!" He then insisted that he did and had to get permission from the council and the island. "There are five men on three boats for this," he explained. I felt so shocked and spoiled. Not knowing what to do, I started recording the fireworks.
Haha, it was really sweet and memorable. Also, he was smart enough to have their wedding team pretend to be the photographer's assistants the whole time. I didn't suspect a thing! Looking back, I feel so fooled!"

"I wanted a fab location and the feeling of a destination wedding - luxurious, class and elegance with a touch of purity. We couldn't have our destination wedding, so I had to bring a Rajasthan palace vibe crossed with an Italian estate to NZ. I planned the entire wedding in under eight weeks. We had 15 wedding functions which ranged from events on our family yacht on the viaduct to Park Hyatt and even The Cloud. I used vendors I have worked with and know well - ones I could trust to deliver and execute my vision. I was very particular with designs, florals and colours and where I wanted it all, so it helped that the team I used had worked with us for our white wedding last year."

"Our wedding painter, Mandy, is incredibly gifted. I wanted something unique at my wedding, which was extra memorable for me on the day, and we went with a live wedding painter. She flew into Auckland to do this for me. I now have the completed photo of me and my husband going around the Mandap on my wedding date! You wouldn't believe that it's a painting!"

"Also, the talented Michael - such a great photographer and so understanding. He always went above and beyond to get photos and was very professional. I was very picky about a photographer, and I am glad I chose him! Words can't describe how I feel about him and his work."
