Sarah and Daniel

“Dan and I met at our uni’s hall of residence in February 2010, and we started dating six months later. After ten years together, many degrees, flats, jobs, a fur baby and a house, Dan proposed. We had gone to Mt Ruapehu for the weekend to celebrate our tenth anniversary and stayed in the Chateau Tongariro (which was magical). It was our first time skiing, so it took a little while to get the hang of it. Dan wanted to propose in the snow, but I was a bit grumpy as I wasn’t getting the hang of skiing as quickly as he was. He had to wait a few hours longer than planned until I had a few good runs down the slope and was in a better mood! It was pretty hilarious, actually. I had no idea that he was going to propose on the ski field. He did it right at the bottom in a secluded spot off to the side - it was so special! We wanted our wedding to be classic and elegant, celebrated with our closest friends and family. We wanted a wedding that would be timeless and reflect both of our personalities. It ended up being exactly that! Ellie from Proshot Photography was amazing. She didn’t just take fantastic photos but made our day so much fun! Debby from Wildly Madly Deeply was incredible - she took my incoherent ramblings about what I wanted and created my dream arrangements. I couldn’t have imagined more perfect bouquets and aisle florals. Markovina was also such a great venue! Not only beautiful, but they make your wedding day and the lead-up so easy and stress-free.”
