What word keeps coming up when couples describe your work?
Not a word, but so many people comment on how we photograph normal, everyday people (not just models) and make them look good.
If you had to choose another career, what would it be?
Chris: I would become a lighting designer because light is HUGELY underrated for making people & places look and feel better. Tenille: Would walk (even more) dogs.
What advice do you give every couple?
The time you take for photographs is the longest period you’re together without anyone needing anything from you (especially if you’re not first-look people). So take some time, take a breath, and bask in that wedding day glow.
Why are you a photographer?
Tenille: I have what I call my ‘chronic nostalgia’ - I'm always a little bit sad and aware that every moment is already over as it's happening. So I want to take photos for people to give them a tangible thing from those moments.
How do you help your couples feel comfortable and relaxed in front of the camera?
We’re big fans of laying the groundwork, i.e. hanging out a couple of times before the wedding (usually involving a pub). We also love going to the rehearsal if we can.
