"We met at work when Soph was a Deckhand on the Ferries, and George was one of the contracting Marine Engineers. We worked together on the boats for about a year; we had a great friendship - then we finally took the next step and started dating. We never looked back."
Tell us about your wedding venue, Man O War?
"We have spent many years boating around Waiheke and have had countless memorable times in Man O' War Bay and the vineyard! Long before we got engaged, we always talked about how amazing it would be to get married on the beach at Man O' War. Our dream of getting married barefoot on the sand with the water lapping at our feet finally came true. I love that we chose a venue and location with such strong meaning to us and a place we can visit for many years."
Who were your outstanding wedding vendors?
"The photos and video by Greg Campbell and his team really matched the aesthetic and style of our wedding. They were so great to have around on the day but also blended in so seamlessly that you almost forgot they were there."
"Madame La Florist absolutely perfected our brief of bright tropical flowers and foliage. They were just outstanding, we couldn't believe how beautiful they all were."
What is your favourite memory from the big day?
"Standing on one of our favourite beaches with the most perfect weather imaginable, marrying the love of my life was a moment to cherish forever!"
Did you include anything non-traditional in your wedding?
"Yes, Soph's Granny was the flower girl/granny!"
What is your #1 piece of wedding advice to couples planning their big day?
"Don't sweat the small stuff during the planning process. There were so many little things that I was overthinking, and then they didn't matter at all when it came to the day. Some things will not go to plan on the big day, go with the flow and don't stress about it!"
