Jess and Jeff celebrated their wedding day at the ever-stunning Mudbrick on Waiheke Island. In their own words, “The day really did feel like a fairytale.”
What was the proposal like?
“He took me out to Piha beach and while we were looking out at the gorgeous view, he got down on one knee and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him. It was super romantic and I loved that it was just the two of us."
What is your favourite memory from the big day?
"The entire day was magical! It's hard to choose one. Sharing our vows was very special; we kept this as a surprise until the day. Our first dance was one of our favourite moments. We loved celebrating with our friends and family well into the night; we had so much fun! Couldn't stop smiling the whole day."
Did everything go to plan?
"Almost. We couldn't get the flowers that we originally wanted. I planned to have baby's breath, but none were available, so the florist swapped them out for more roses and other flowers. They turned out beautiful, and it wasn't a big deal on the day. We had also planned to have an outdoor ceremony, but since there was a lot of wind, we made the call in the morning to have it indoors. It was an easy decision as I didn't want my hair blowing everywhere in the wind! We had a beautiful indoor ceremony and still enjoyed the beautiful view outdoors after the ceremony."
What do you consider the best wedding investment you made?
"Our amazing photographer, Zanda Photo & Video! Definitely worth spending more money to get beautiful photos as this is what you will look back on. Also, the venue, Mudbrick, was amazing to work with and really took a lot of stress away from us."
Who was your outstanding wedding vendor?
"Our photographer, Zanda. Zanda looked after me so well on the day. She was a pleasure to work with and made everyone feel so comfortable! She bought lots of good vibes. And, of course, the photos turned out incredible! Also Valerie from Dellamore Bridal - Valerie really made the experience of buying a wedding dress special. She takes so much care in what she does, and nothing is too big of an ask. I really enjoyed my visits to Dellamore Bridal, and their dresses are all stunning! I loved every dress I tried on; they are unique and exquisitely made."
What is one thing you wish you had known before planning and having your wedding?
"It's better to plan as far in advance as you can as a lot of time and effort goes into it."
