Te Ahu and Nuzhah

Te Ahu & Nuzhah's wedding celebrations were colourful, joyous and bursting with love.

How did you and your partner meet?

"We initially met through Tinder, and then Te Ahu became my personal trainer. The rest is history!"

What was the proposal like?

"The proposal was intimate, romantic and hilarious.

We were on holiday in Rarotonga and just had a morning dip. We were drying off on a sun bed, and I was ready to get stuck into my new book, "One True Love" (how fitting).

I was being bothered by a bee, and Te Ahu was helping me out, but then he wouldn't get up!

I initially thought that maybe he got stung, but then, out of nowhere, he pulled out a ring box and asked me to marry him.

It was perfect; there was no one around, just us - and our friend Madeleine, who recorded it entirely!"

Did you include anything non-traditional in your wedding?

"We had an intimate ceremony a couple of weeks before our reception. We could share our vows and be incredibly vulnerable with each other. I'm not good in front of crowds, and I love that we could share a moment with just us, our celebrant, our witnesses, and some onlookers. We celebrated with family and friends with a reception later."

Who was your outstanding wedding vendor?

"We were so grateful to work with such amazing vendors, it's hard to choose the most outstanding! Sharon from The Pullman really put it all together and made it happen. She was incredible, easy to communicate with and just an absolute dream."

What is one thing you wish you had known before planning and having your wedding?

"Being prepared for the amount of opinions everyone will have on how you should do things, what you should do etc. Luckily, it didn't take us long to put our wants and needs first and tuning out to everyone else. Otherwise, it would have driven me insane trying to please and cater to everyone's needs."

What is your favourite memory from the big day?

"Our family and friends. It was overwhelming in the best way possible to have all our favourite people together to celebrate with us. It's something we will always cherish."
